An Educated Piano Instructor
Being an experienced home-schooling teacher of 25 years (and also trained as a public school teacher at Portland State University for both Oregon and Washington), I know that every one of us has different needs when it comes to learning something new! With my knowledge and skill, I am uniquely qualified to teach you at your pace, as well as adapting my lessons to maximize your learning and understanding--while having fun!
I work with students of any age, and all levels of musical skill and experience -- including none! I will teach you to read music, and to understand music theory -- an often confusing and daunting subject! Learning music on the piano will also equip you to successfully learn to play any other instrument.
Not only can music feed your soul and your human need for creative expression, it also stimulates and develops crucial parts of your brain --which is vitally important for children (including those with special needs), as well as benefiting the elderly.
Information
I offer piano lessons for $25.00 per half hour, either at your home (travel-time charge added) or at mine, on either of my restored vintage upright pianos. Payment is required on the day of the lesson, or earlier; cash is preferred but checks are accepted.
My home is conveniently located three miles northwest of Battle Ground, WA and only seven minutes from I-5, taking Exit 11.
A standard lesson program is once per week, but I am flexible! Schedules can be adjusted and modified to fit your needs, including temporary changes for holidays, life events, etc. Alterations to the lesson schedule should be clearly communicated and confirmed at least 48 hours prior to the next lesson.
